Since December 2019, there have been cases of respiratory disease in the city of Wuhan in the province of Hubei in China, probably connected with visiting a local fish and poultry market. It has since been established as a novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) infection. Currently, the potential threat to Germany is being classified by the Robert Koch Intitute and the ECDC European health authority as low.

Nevertheless, the SRH University Heidelberg would like to refer to the Foreign Office’s current travel and safety advice for China. Staff and students planning a visit to China should inform themselves about current regulations.

For further information about the modes of transmission of the virus, symptoms etc. we would like to refer to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and to the FAQ of the World Health Organization.
